Background
Our research facility was founded in suburban northwest Baltimore in 1999, originally under the corporate name of Pharmapsych Research Incorporated. In anticipation of our collaboration with research physicians outside of mental health, our name was changed to Pharmasite Research Inc . in April 2001. Founded by Alan M. Jonas, M.D., Robert B. Lehman, M.D. and Surya H. Korn, Pharmasite Research has conducted over twenty-five clinical trials of treatments for various psychiatric disorders since 1999.
Our Capabilities and Areas of Interest
Pharmasite Research conducts Phase II, III and IV clinical trials for the treatment of psychiatric disorders. These trials vary by disorder as well as population, with patients ranging in age from children to Seniors. Some of Pharmasite's therapeutic interests include depression, anxiety, ADHD, bipolar disorder, obsessive-compulsive disorder, cognitive problems in dementia (including vascular and Alzheimer's dementia), and behavioral problems associated with dementia. In addition to these psychiatric disorders, our study coordinators also offer substantial experience in other therapeutic areas such as clinical trials of migraines, tension-type headaches and HIV.
Our clinical research coordinators and doctors work in collaboration with qualified psychometricians and investigators to offer substantial clinical and pharmaceutical research experience. We offer a professional and comfortable experience to our study volunteers, and at the same time remain committed to the conduct of high quality research. In keeping with Good Clinical Practices (GCP), we fully respect the rights of research volunteers to be fully informed about all factors affecting their participation in a clinical trial.
Our Facility
In conjunction with our name change in April 2001, Pharmasite expanded its offices to its present location in northwest Baltimore. Our research facility includes 5 exam rooms, administrative offices, a conference room, a phlebotomy lab with a minus-20 degree freezer, and an appropriately secured drug and records storage room. As an added convenience for our patients, we are located just minutes from Beltway exit 20.
