Migraine Studies

A migraine is often associated with a moderate to severe throbbing, pounding or pulsating headache. It may also be accompanied with nausea, or vomiting and/or sensitivity to sound and light. Migraines can last several hours to several days and can affect a person’s ability to function in daily life.

Migraine Symptoms Include:

Moderate to severe headache
Headache pain that has a throbbing or
pulsating quality
Headache pain can be located on one or
both sides of the head
Exacerbation with movement
Sensitivity to light and/or sound
Nausea or vomiting
Blurred vision
Lightheadedness or dizziness
Weakness
Aura:  Bright spots or flashes of light, blind spots or sensations of
tingling on various parts of the body

Several Risk Factors or Triggers Include:

A family history of migraines
Hormone changes in women
Stress
Certain foods or food additives
Changes in sleeping patterns
Alcohol and/ or caffeinated drinks
